Weekly Message Summer 2 Week 6

This week we have been completing our work on poetry and finished off our unit with ‘My Shadow’ by Robert Louis Stevenson. We had great fun reading out the poem and creating our own shadows using torches to dramatize the stanzas of the poem.

On Tuesday we had airport day which was an amazing day where the children got to experience ‘flying’ to Australia, Spain China and Brazil. Everyone who took part said it was the best day they had had at school all year and everyone behaved impeccably.

Have a fantastic  happy summer and I will look forward to seeing you all back safe and sound in September.

Weekly Message Summer 2 Week 5

This week we have been working on classic poetry and writing our own seaside poetry based on a poem by Lilian Moore called ‘Until I saw the sea’.

In science we had loads of fun using magnets to try and find which was the strongest. We use lots of different magnets and tried moving different metal objects to find which ones would attract and which would repel.

Weekly Message Summer 2 Week 4

This week we have been working on information texts and researching our chosen topic in order to create our own. The whole class have planned and written some interesting information and presented their facts to a great standard.

In maths we have been working on division and some children have found it tricky because they are still not confident with multiplication facts. Please access BBC  Supermovers and TT rockstars as much as you can at home and practise as much as you can!

Weekly Message Summer 2 Week 3

This week we have been planning and writing our own bonkers stories in the style of Lewis Carroll who wrote Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The imagination and creativity which the children have used has been wonderful.

The year 4 children have completed the Multiplication Check this week. A lot of people were not looking forward to completing the task but they all showed true resilience and tried their best on the day. So well done to everyone!
